These Great Heights
You lifted your eyes, brave one,
to face the cyclone of your darkest fears.
You turned to the Light
even as a curtain of clouds closed over it.
You stepped beyond the clutch of the past
although its shadows followed you.
You left the well-worn paved pathway
for a dirt trail of uncertainty.
And then …
You found yourself tenderly cradled
in the seat of my Divinity.
You breathed in the fragrance of liquid Light
as it faded all your edges.
Blackness softly fell away
and daybreak rose within you.
Your arms became branches
uplifted in trust and willingness.
Your roots held the current of an ever-shifting landscape,
civilizations rolling one into another.
Your spirit became ripe with fruit
as I watched redemption ringing in your twinkling eyes.
I have always held you close, my very own,
but now you can feel my kiss upon your dear, wet cheek.
